The Finnish Education and VET system is managed by the Ministry of Education.
VET providers are the schools, the universities and the training organisations (public or private).
The Ministry of Education usually grants the permission to the VET providers and identifies the education sectors in which they are allowed to operate and the maximum amount of students. Subsequently the education providers set up the training curricula. The most part of such bodies is funded by governmental and local authorities.
The private vocational institutions are managed by the Ministry of Education; they receive governmental allocations and can award official qualifications.
