The profile is characterised by the learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and competences. The course includes the syllabus, the units, the assessment procedures. The learning outcomes and the assessment criteria identify the minimum requirements to allocate the credits.
The vertical and horizontal mobility is guaranteed by the formal adoption of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) in the Universities. The students can acquire the credits in formal, informal and non formal paths. Several bodies are in charge of setting out the correspondence between the national qualifications and those obtained abroad. The main bodies are the Estonian ENIC/NARIC: one international network created to facilitate the fair recognition of competences achieved abroad and to promote the academic and professional mobility. The main functions of the Estonian ENIC/NARIC are: evaluating foreign qualifications (diplomas, certificates, academic reports, etc.); setting out the correspondence; providing information about foreign education & training systems; giving information about the Estonian education & training system.
