The training standards are based on the Learning outcomes and the units (core task).
A qualification file contains the core tasks, the work processes and the competences that a person has to know and be able to practice in order to earn his/her diploma.
In the occupational profiles the employers and the employees identify the core tasks to be performed in order to carry out a specific profession. Then the working processes and the competences are defined. The allocation of credit points will be implemented by 2012.
The learning routes are divided in two types: a school-based route (BOL) and a work-based route (BBL). The training Centres are completely free in setting up their training programmes, as long if they comply with the requirements in the QPs (and the VET-act). Vocational training centres are also free to arrange the examinations according to the QPs.
